Make your own Flashcards
I have just added the first chapter of what I hope will be a great aid to helping you create your own picture flashcards, and help make more flashcard files in different languages available! For the quick info, click here to go to the Make your own Flashcards page.
If you want to know more, keep reading…
My initial vision has been to create picture flashcards in as many different languages as possible, especially the languages that have fewer commercial learning tools available. I have relied on web based resources, and volunteers who have supplied me with some translations. Last October Cristina sent me all twelve chapters of the Estonian language. I was so excited, as it was the first time anyone had done all the files. Well, it is almost 4 months later, and I have only gotten the first few chapters reformatted and online. I feel awful that she did so much work, and I have been so slow in completing it. This has led me to rethink how to make the cards available, and how to expedite getting the new flashcards onto the website. So, I have begun making the Microsoft Word documents available, with the pictures and blank spaces, as a form, so you can easily enter the words for the new language, and see the picture, so you can better fit the translation to the image. I have also split up the files into smaller groups so you can just do the ones you are interested in, and it doesn’t seem like such a huge task.
Hopefully you will find this useful. I have the first chapter available, and the 5 groups from within that chapter here. Take a look and let me know what you think. I will be adding more forms in the coming weeks.
